Looking for a Motor Home?

If you are looking for a Motor Home there are a abundance of options available. When the economy took a downturn the recreational vehicle industry was one of the hardest hit. Motorhome sales plummeted.  Many companies were forced to close. As a result there has been a glut on vehicles on the market and there are many quality used vehicles that are tremendous bargains.

We often hear the most important thing one should do when looking to purchase a motor home is first look around and decide on what type of motor home you want and then more importantly buy a USED motor home. Any type of motor home you buy depreciates. Once you drive it off the lot you will NEVER EVER get your money out of it. That being the case, look for a quality used vehicle. There are many to choose from and you will save tons of money.

Types of Motor Homes

There are number of types to choose from. Diesel pushers are the higher end models and the most expensive.  Class A models run on gas and are less expensive than diesel pushers  The engines are not as durable as diesel but gas mileage runs a tad better than diesel.  The next level down are Class B and Class C which looks like a motor home with a truck front.  They are generally smaller  and can have either gas or diesel engines.  The bed sometimes is over head the engine cab or there can be a bed there and also in the back.  The inside living arrangements are a bit tighter than Class A's but they are good for short vacations and weekend trips.

5th Wheels and Travel Trailers

Travel Trailers and 5th Wheels are units that are towed with trucks.  They are great for going on vacation and parking the vehicle. Another vehicle can not be towed behind so you will need to use your truck for any running around you want to do.  5th wheels and Travel trailers have great interiors with lots of space and amenities. They are very comfortable to stay in with large living space.  Usually there are a few steps leading to the bedroom whereas on a diesel pusher everything is on one level.  Generally speaking travel trailers and 5th wheels are less expensive than Class A's and are a hit with growing families.
